My assistant and I were able to get the initial drawing onto the panel and I've started laying in the figures. The oil dries slowly on the steel, extending the open time in which I can work by more than a day.

Color studies and sketches for the Africa panel of my Communion of the Saints commission. The painting will depict the Venerable Zeinab Alif and St. Benedict the Moor
 I am seeking models to stand in for saints from 4 continents. I’ll be using your image to create a composition celebrating the communion of the saints and reflecting on the global mission of the Franciscan order.
